A question has lived with me for a long time: how does something fragile survive? How does a flower survive, how does a small community at the far edge of the world survive, how has a people survived for more than three thousand years, while every empire that rose around it has vanished?

I look for the answer in different places. I found it in Havana, in a small Jewish community keeping the flame alive far from any center. I found it in Hong Kong. And I find it again and again in the landscape where I grew up, in a tree gripping the rock, in a root finding its way. In every generation, the Jew asks anew: is this a place where I can take root and never be uprooted? Perhaps the answer lies not in power but in rhythm, in the Sabbath returning every week, the holidays returning every year, the table around which the family gathers, the community. What returns is what remains.

In recent years, the material itself has become part of the question. I am drawn to slow, handmade processes, a book bound by hand, prints made through historical techniques. What must bear witness and pass to the generations to come, I am learning to print in palladium, a process that survives two hundred years. And what is delicate and fleeting, on Japanese washi paper, thin and fragile like the thing itself, until it is no longer possible to say where the paper ends and the plant begins.

My Judaism does not appear in the images. There is no symbol in them. It lives in the gaze itself: in what I choose to look at, in what I recognize as worthy of being kept, and in why a passing flower and a small community at the edge of the world deserve, in my eyes, the same love.

As a fine art photographer, I am fascinated by the intersection between faith and reality, inspired by Franz Rosenzweig's idea that religion is a way of life that permeates all aspects of existence. Through my work, I aim to capture the transcendent nature of the world, using photography to bridge the gap between the material and the spiritual. My goal is to create images that evoke a sense of wonder and encourage viewers to contemplate the beauty and mystery of the world, inviting them to consider the interplay between faith and reality in new and profound ways.

My lens reveals the beauty in the blend,

Where faith and reality transcends,

Through images that evoke wonder and awe,

I invite you to see the connections that draw,

The physical and spiritual together,

And discover a world that's forever.
