I was born in Jerusalem, raised in Pardes Hanna, and spent most of my adult life in the USA. Last summer, after many years of absence, I returned home and am now living and creating in Jerusalem. I gathered feelings from all these places that have shaped me into who I am today, from sweet childhood memories in Pardes Hanna to the sense of estrangement and non-belonging during my stay in the United States. My camera has accompanied me from a young age, helping me find beauty in everything, a fragment of a moment, light, and movement. Thus, I built my creative process. At first, individual images told me a story, and over the years, I managed to create projects and series that told a story through images, which I presented in books, movies, solo and group exhibitions around the world.
On Our Journey Home
In “On our Journey Home, I capture stories, correspondence, and books that turn into captivating pictures of my family's migration from Europe to Israel in 1933. I sketch my grandparents' raw feelings and dreams as they started their journey in the Diaspora, exploring their fears in Europe, the realities of war and disease, and the obstacles they faced. The story spans five generations, including our life in Israel today. Memories come to life, like the aroma of citrus groves on Habotnim Street. Our life in Israel exceeds our ancestors' dreams a hundred years ago.
